Cardone Cheddar Gratin
Ingredients: 8-10 cups* ii inch chunks cardone(cardoon)soaked inwards tabular array salt H2O overnight 1 loving cup evaporated milk 1 loving cup milk ii cups shredded cheddar iii tablespoons butter iii tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika 3/4 loving cup fresh breadstuff crumbs juice of 1/2 lemon salt freshly soil dark pepper Directions: Soak the cardone inwards salted H2O overnight. Preheat oven to 350. Bring a large pot of salted H2O to boil. Add the lemon juice as well as cardones. Boil the cardones until tender, almost 20 minutes. Drain throguhly. Grease a large lidded casserole. Pour inwards the cardones. Meanwhile, n a medium pan, melt the butter. Add the flour along amongst the spices as well as stir until smooth. Add the milk as well as evaporated milk as well as whisk together until slightly thickened. Whisk inwards the cheddar until smooth. Pour over the cardones. Stir to evenly distribute.
