Knäck (Swedish Toffee)
 
    Ingredients:  1/2 loving cup sugar  1/2 loving cup ljus sirap*  two tablespoons butter  1/2 loving cup heavy cream  1/2 loving cup chopped blanched almonds   Directions:   Arrange the newspaper cups on a baking canvass or platter. Set aside.   Whisk together the sugar, syrup, butter together with cream inwards a heavy bottomed two quart saucepan. Cook over depression heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture forms a trouble solid "hard" ball when dropped into a drinking glass of real mutual frigidity water. Stir inwards nuts together with split upward chop-chop into real pocket-size newspaper candy cups.   *Swedish low-cal syrup. I purchase it at Ikea or stores that sell European and/or Scandinavian ingredients. Golden syrup is an acceptable substitute.
