Basic Toffee
Ingredients:
i loving cup butter, cubed
i loving cup sugar
1/4 loving cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
i teaspoon vanilla extract, rum flavoring or nighttime rum
Directions:
Line an 8x8 pan amongst parchment paper. Set aside.
Combine butter, sugar, water, together with tabular array salt inward a modest pot over medium heat.
Stir ingredients ofttimes over medium rut until mixture comes to a boil.
After the mixture comes to a boil, attach a candy thermometer. Continue to stir periodically every bit it thickens together with darkens.
Once toffee reaches 305 (or when a drizzle of the syrup hardens together with cracks inward a drinking glass of rattling mutual coldness water), withdraw from rut together with stir inward flavoring.
Pour mixture into the prepared pan. Allow to cool completely, almost i hour. Break or cutting into pieces.
