My thoughts:
I intend pattypan (also known equally "scallop squash') is my favorite summertime squash. It is sure the cutest. I similar how it doesn't withdraw to live on peeled together with the seeds to flesh ratio is perfect; modest seeds, lots of flesh. It doesn't give off a lot of liquid which makes it perfect for casserole-like dishes similar to this one, at that spot is no puddle of H2O at the bottom of the pan similar what tin hand off alongside undrained zucchini. This dish super light, the egg keeps it from beingness simply a pile of mash hanging out all dry out inwards a pan but it doesn't add together a lot of mass to the dish.
