No Ordinary Pot Roast
Ingredients:
12 oz frozen* pearl onions
3 lb beef bottom circular roast
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 loving cup ruddy wine
iv cups beef stock
3 cloves garlic, minced
half dozen oz tomato plant paste
1 tablespoon horseradish
ii bay leaves
3 carrots, cutting into 3/4 inch chunks
3 parsnips, cutting into 3/4 inch chunks
body of body of water salt
freshly terra firma dark pepper
super fine flour (like Wondra)
Directions:
Heat a small-scale total of crude inward a large, lidded heavy bottomed pot (like a Dutch oven). Add the onions too produce for ii minutes. Meanwhile, rub paprika, tabular array salt too pepper into the roast. Sprinkle liberally amongst flour. Place inward the pan too dark-brown on all sides. Add the wine, garlic, tomato plant paste, bay leaves, horseradish too stock. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, too simmer ii hours. Add the carrots too parsnips. Continue to simmer, covered, 1 threescore minutes or until the meat is real tender.
*You tin y'all fresh that y'all peeled yourself but peeling pearl onions is non my stance of a proficient time.
